WIND HOLLOW FOUNDATION WORKING TO BRING NEW FACTORY AND JOBS TO ANADARKO

Anadarko Daily News
September 30, 2010

"I am pleased to announce that SOL TACTIC Manufacturing Company, from Norman, Oklahoma in conjunction with Wind Hollow Native Energy LLC., are in the beginning planning stages to start production of their solar shutter commercial skylight device in Anadarko. We anticipate production start up by mid December or early January. Wind Hollow Native Energy LLC., incorporated in 2008, works to create energy partnerships and alternative green energy solutions tribally, nationally, and globally," commented Mrs. Theda McPheron-Keel, President & CEO of Wind Hollow Foundation, Inc.

The solar shutter device listed in the picture was the 18th put together by Wind Hollow Native Energy as part of its technical steps in designing theassembly plant setup and writing  the employee training materials. Theseunits were completed in training sessions by former ALS workers shown above. The Technical name for the solar shutter device is "HOSS", Horizontal Opening Solar Solutions.

"HOSS" is a component to a skylight system used in commercial buildings such as big box retail settings. By design, it eliminated 100% of the solar radiation, which in turn produces approximately 30% in energy savings over standard skylights, while allowing 40% more available sunlight to enter the building. Simply put, it eliminated solar radiation and reduces the heat again, while allowing more light transmission (daylight into the building). This reduces the amount of incandescent light or florescent artificial light needed and results in energy savings as well.

"HOSS" was patented through Iowa State University and further researched and modified through the University of Oklahoma's College of Engineering," remarked Mr. Mark Fuller, CEO and founder of SOL TACTIC.

"SOL TACTIC identified Anadarko as an ideal location to begin manufacturing because of Wind Hollow Foundation's work as a nonprofit toward developing a pool of employees via the ALS trained workforce. Available manufacturing facilities at the ALS building and Wind Hollow Foundation's assistance in developing and obtaining additional funding sources, market strategies, and emphasis on green technology are key elements which led to our decision to base operations here. I look forward to developing a long-term relationship with the City of Anadarko, Caddo County, the local tribal nations and the cirizens of Anadarko," remarked Mr. Fuller.

"Our goal with my partner and counsel, Mr. Jeff Hart, is to build and establish a permanent facility capable of roducing at least 5,000 units per month over the next three years. We are determining the total number of employees we will initially start with and will be in further contact with Wind Hollow on that number in the days ahead," further commented Mr. Fuller.

"Wind Hollow and its trained ALS's employees have built 13 units as part of our planning steps. These are to be installed next week at Little Creek AFB in Virginia. Also, they successfully built additionals units for further testing and refinement as we continue the development steps necessary to fund and implement an assembly facility here," concluded Mr. Fuller.

"We are extremely excited about SOL TACTIC locating its initial facility in Anadarko," remarked Mrs. McPheron-Keel.

"Wind Hollow will be producing a training manual for use by the assemblers of the "HOSS" solar shutter. I would like to thank Anadarko High School and particularly, Mr. Kerry Hutchinson's Media Production Class for filming our assembly of the units. A special thanks to Tyler McGary and Selene Morales for their dedication and help in making this project a success. Their video documentation over 2 days detailing all steps of the assembly process will allow us the opportunity to develop the essential training materials," commented Mrs. McPheron-Keel.

"Wind Hollow Foundation and Wind Hollow Native Energy's primary mission is to bring "green technology" jobs to Anadarko and the surrounding communities. I believe this is the beginning of many other employment opportunities for the citizens of Anadarko," concluded Mrs. McPheron-Keel.

Delawares Awarded $188,270 Transit System Grant Funding
The Anadarko Daily News
April 21, 2010

The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) recently awarded the Delaware Nation, a federally-recognized Indian tribe located in Oklahoma, a $188,270 Tribal Transit Program Grant that will fund a tribal transit that provides a natural gas fueled bus and a depot.

This transit system will allow better energy management, cost savings, and fossil fuel conservation while providing job opportunities in the green energy efficient technology manufacturing and service business.

The Delaware Nation teamed up with Wind Hollow Foundation and Hope Technology to create the Going Green Initiative that strives for environmental stewardship. Theda McPheron-Keel, with Wind Hollow Foundation acted on behalf of the Delaware Nation to write the grant and stressed the importance of this transit system as a way to stimulate economic growth with the key focus on green energy concepts.

All operational materials and ongoing fuel needs will be purchased from local Anadarko businesses and local natural gas suppliers. It will also establish a tribally operated system that will allow for a handicap accessible bus for employment purposes. The transportation system is intended for veterans, disabled, and chronically unemployed.

The new transit system will support the environmentally friendly and energy efficient foundation of the Delaware Nation Going Green Initiative. This is the second grant, including the solar panel grant, awarded to the Delaware Nation for the implementation of the tribe's Green Initiative.

This grant will provide jobs for four tribal transit employees in the start-up phase with other jobs to occur as expansion programs take place. We anticipate that this grant will strengthen the ability of workers to enter and remain in the workforce which will increase the region's economic opportunities and financial stability. The local area has been divided into three transit routes designed to provide maximum access to tribal enclaves and rural tours.

These routes will go from the Delaware Nation Tribal Complex to Anadarko, Cement, Chickasha, Gracemont, Binger, Lookeba, Hinton, Fort Cobb, and Carnegie.

"This project has the potential to become an emblem of partnered growth and renewed hope for rural as well as tribal communities. The Delaware Nation is proud of this accomplishment and is looking forward to similar successes in the near future." Kerry Holton, President of the Delaware Nation said.

The Delaware Nation will be expanding with similar projects to create clean energy including solar, wind, and biomass. In the near future, the Delaware Nation Green Technology Park will house businesses with a focus on energy efficiency and conservation that will create green jobs and spur economic development in the community.

DOE's website Highlights the Efforts of Wind Hollow

The Anadarko Daily News
April 10, 2010

The United States Department of Energy's website is highlighting the efforts of Wind Hollow and the Delaware Tribes for solar energy use.

The tribe and Wind Hollow are both headquartered in Anadarko.

Wind Hollow Foundation and Delaware Nation recently received notification from the Department of Energy that their successful efforts in obtaining funding to install an innovative solar roof on the Delaware tribal headquarters is currently appearing on its web page - Energy Empower. I'm enclosing a copy of the articles and its website address. We were chosen from other funded projects across the nation.

Delaware Nation with Wind Hollow as the prime grant writer for the tribe was awarded $250,000 in July 2009 through the Department of Energy's Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant.

"Our successful proposal was 1 out of 10 funded in the State and the only one awarded to an American Indian tribe." Stated Mrs. Theda McPheron-Keel, President and CEO of Wind Hollow Foundation.

The Department of Energy informed me that they wanted to highlight the Delaware Nation's "Going Green Initiative" as an exemplenary project that fits the DOE's goals of promoting green and fuel efficient technology for the 21st Century.

"Wind Hollow Foundations primary mission is to work with Native American individuals and tribal bodies in the area of economic development, education, health, and cultural issues. Two of Wind Hollows sister companies, Wind Hollow Native Energy focuses on creating energy partnerships and alternative green energy solutions. Adaptive Living Solutions (ALS) focuses on green alternative building and community revitalization in rural communities," further stated Mrs. McPheron-Keel.

"We look forward to continued growth for Anadarko through the use and development of Green Technology jobs into the days ahead. We are thrilled over this article because it reinforces our commitment and the Delaware Nation's to green technology. This is great advertisement for our City and State," concluded Mrs. McPheron-Keel.

[Anadarko, OK]
- The Department of Energy recently awarded the Delaware Nation, a federaly recognized Indian tribe located in Oklahoma, a $250,000 National Energy Technology Labs Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) that will fund solar panel roofing for the tribe's governmental building. The new roof will support the environmentally friendly and energy efficient foundation of the Delaware Nation Going Green Initiative. This is the first tep in the implementation of the tribe's Green Initiative, which will ideally garner other grant opportunities.

The Delaware Nation was one of 87 applicants and the only federally-recognized Indian tribe to be chosen for this prestigious award. The grant was a competitive, open to the public, award that supplies recipients with federal stimulus funds.

The Delaware Nation teamed up with Wind Hollow Foundation and Hope Technology to create the Going Green Initiative that strives for environmental stewardship. Theda McPheron-Keel, with Wind Hollow Foundation, acted on behalf of the Delaware Nation to write the grant and described how the solar panels will convert solar energy into electricity and will cover the entire roof thus cutting out a substantial amount of conventional energy.

"Once complete, the solar panel roof will save nearly $9,592 per year by cutting conventional energy use by approximately 45,000 kilowatts hours annually. With this technology, the solar power generating system will be fully integrated into the new roof. The technology chosen for this project will be Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) Solar Roofing System.

"With this technology, the solar power generating system will be fully integrated into new roof. The roof will be both a full functioning high performance roof system and a solar energy production plant, all in a single integrated building product." explained Research Scientist and Project Director Dr. Omran Musbah with Hope Technology.

This grant will allow energ conservation and energy efficiency using renewable solar panels. The Delaware Nation aims to conserve energy and reduce our carbon footprint while serving as local and tribal role models in Oklahoma. The new roof wil integrate solar panels into the roofing material itself. This grant will launch a change in community perspective that will help the state of Oklahoma to develop green projects and jobs. The project, which will retrofit the new combinations solar panel and roofing materials as an integrated unit, is expected to be completed in the coming months.

"The Delaware Nation is in a coveted position as the only American Indian tribe to be awarded a grant of this nature. We have a vision for a greener future for future generations and this is the first step in making our dreams a reality," Kerry Holton, President of the Delaware Nation said.

The Delaware Nation will be expanding with similar projects to create clean energy including solar, wind, and biomass. In the near future, the Delaware Nation Green Technology Park will house businesses with a focus on energy efficiency and conservation that will create green jobs and spur economic development in the community.
